So here is where you get to learn some tidbits about me....
First, and foremost, I am a creative being down to my core. I was playing music by the age of two, and was actually playing one church service a month in my childhood church by the age of five!
My first photography experience was in elementary school. I shot on an old Argus C3 "brick" camera, which I still have to this day. I processed my own images in the darkroom my Dad built for me in my basement.
In Middle School, I saved up every penny I could in order to buy a Canon AE-1. I bought it because it was advertised every night on the Yankees games, and I watched every one of those games with my Mom and my Uncle Nick.
I did the whole "yearbook photographer" thing through both middles school and high school.
My first three college degrees are all in music (1 in education, 2 in performance.)
Before shooting a single wedding as a photographer, I played more than 50 as a musician.
In the Fall of 2015 I upgraded to fully professional photography equipment, and started taking on wedding photography in addition to portraiture sessions.
I am an absolute NUT about family history. I am the keeper of all of your family's historical photos. In fact, I have the family photos of my ancestors that fought in the civil war!!!
Creating the quality of materials that will survive over 100 years into the future is a major motivation behind why I love creating prints so much.
I absolutely adore capturing relationships and emotions. When I get home after an all-day wedding photo session, I am so excited to see the material that I have captured from the day that I can't even get to sleep!
I believe in the power of hard work. My pursuit of exquisite photography is a passion that I literally pursue every single day of the year. Talent and a great camera get you nowhere. As a photographer, you have to be compulsive about making every single photo session better than its predecessor.
EVERY image you see on my site is from a real wedding. A great percentage of photographers' websites use what are called 'styled shoots.' Those are beautifully dressed pretty people, with hair and make-up artists right on the spot, in a very unrealistic (and perfect) photo situation. I have not ever, nor will I ever in the future, use a styled shoot image in my portfolio. My personal view is that you should see exactly the quality of work that I can offer you in real life, at YOUR wedding. The only way to do that is to show images from other real-life weddings. That means no staged/artificial material on my site, or in my sample albums. Ever.
I absolutely adore my wife Alexis, and our sassy English Bulldog, Lily.
