About James B. Manning V
James B. Manning V - myself, was born and raised in Texas. Friends and family call me JB, so I'd welcome you to do so as well. As the 5th, my family had to get a little creative as we already had a Jim, a James and a few other variations running around. Stinko, a variation of Cinco, thankfully didn't stick around.
Speaking of creativity and family, that's where I come from - a creative family. Though, I admit with reservation that I wasn't always exceptionally passionate about the arts. I acknowledged them, I appreciated them and I respected them but I had other far more pressing things to worry about growing up. You know - baseball, mischief and so on. But, I have always been passionate about the outdoors, where I was lucky to spend a bountiful amount of my time with my dad.
I've always (...usually) documented my time spent in the outdoors. A field journal was close by, short stories were submitted for school assignments and a few fishing lies -- I mean, accurate recounts, were told via the written and spoken word. But, I wasn't a Henry David Thoreau or John James Audubon. Recounting the stories of the scenes stored in my mind just left me with writers cramp and an account that couldn't do the situation justice.
Nature photography, outdoor photography, landscape photography... these are now the means by which I can now tell my stories and relay my experiences.
