I'm currently an active semi-professional photographer. I'm recognized in Dallas and elsewhere as an accomplished shooter of live music, burlesque and other performances, with work published in Central Track, the Dallas Observer, and on various websites and social media. I think I have a strong affinity for this kind of photography since I'm also a life-long musician--many of the bands I shoot are current and former collaborators. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the unintentional king of profile photos.
Over time, as this body of work has accumulated, I've started to call it "Performance Portraiture" since it tends to combine tools and techniques used for both available-light portraiture and "action" performance photography.
Less well-known (but usually more remunerative) is my architectural, editorial and product work, which has been published in several magazines and online publications, including Origin Magazine, FN, and Luxury Retreats. It's interesting work, and in addition to teaching me things it pays the bills, but my passion isn't as strong for it.
I have done a good deal of portraiture and studio work, but it is the least developed area of my portfolio, and the area I'd most like to explore as an artist.
I have a basic day rate for my time for shooting and editing. Additional fees may apply depending on gear and/or studio requirements, licensing agreements, and/or specific deliverables.
