Lisa Hancock is a full-time documentary, portrait and wedding photographer based in New York City. Her style and approach to photography is firmly rooted in a tradition of photojournalism - capturing stories as they unfold and discovering the image rather than staging it. She earned a master's degree in journalism at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in Los Angeles, and has studied photography extensively on both coasts -- most recently at the International Center of Photography in New York City.
Lisa's personal work focuses on drawing attention to underrepresented populations. Currently she is photographing individuals who grew up in the foster care system. In her wedding photography, she strives to capture the emotions and details of the day from a variety of perspectives. A lover of books, Lisa collects images throughout the day with an eye towards creating an engaging layout and narrative in the final album.
Lisa's work has appeared on the pages of W, Glamour, GQ, US Weekly, and Shape, as well as a number of newspapers.
